Thanks guys - - the bullet (though not the hole, of course) has been saved and will be given a place of honour somewhere (suggestions??). In any event, I remain curious about the bullet-hole mystery. As I understand the game was reimported from someplace in South America, I envision some kind of crazy gunfight taking place in a Rio de Janiero bar - who knows.
As I am in need of a missing slam-tilt switch assembly - and Angelo has kindly offered me one in exchange for some photos of this ongoing project, I have put together a few. Before you look at the photos, bear in mind that I did consider buying or making another cabinet, but I wanted to keep it original. I also realize that I could by a replacement coin door for $100 or so. This is a first-time project and a learning experience for me. I undertook it as a test-bed to work on some skills that may be of greater benefit on a more valuable machine in the future. Many thanks to all of you who have offered advice to date.
These photos are a few months old, and more progress has been made since that time.
Anyway, here you are (hopefully the link works, as I can be bad with this stuff):

On a per capita basis, we own more games than the US (I can't speak for the other countries).

Hey, new guy . . you've taken my icon image thing!! As for the paint, I presume you are referring to cabinet/backbox paint. If so, Painter's Touch semi-gloss black (available at Home Depot and Rona) is a very good match for DMD-era games (1991 onward) from Williams/Bally. I know F-14 is an older system 11 game and I have not compared its paint finish to the later DMD machines. Other guys here will know more about that than me. You could also try searching the RGP newsgroup on Google.
Good luck.
