VRPA Committee Meeting: Jan. 17th, 2005

Meeting start: 8:20pm

 

1)  Mini Tourneys at each get together:

 

It would be a good idea to do $1 entry minis or have secret special prizes at some of this year's tournaments.  Maybe a special award with the lowest score of the night on a secret game, or the best 'poker hand' score... could be called the " Host's Prize" since it is chosen (before any tourney play begins) and is presented by the host.  Possibly some small prize of the host's choice.

 

2)  The Twilight Zone Trophy!!

 

Dale came up with the idea to have the highest scorer on Twilight Zone (if it is at a tournament) receive a cool gumball machine and get their name on it just like our VRPA trophies!  This trophy would be brought to the next tournament that includes a Twilight Zone at the venue.

 

3)  T-shirts:

 

We want to get ideas for a new shirt design.  It was suggested that maybe we create some kind of contest to encourage people to come up with some good ideas.  Kyle will post within the General section requesting anyone with ideas to submit them to VRPA@shaw.ca

 

4)  Website Update:

 

The website is going up soon, but if we want to have our own forum, it will take a little more cash and time.  We need about $200 to cover the extra hours it will take to have the work completed.  Jason will make a post asking if anyone would like to chip in some cash for the work to help cover the costs.

 

5)  Public Pinball show by the VRPA:

 

One question that has been on Kyle's mind is the necessity for separate insurance above and beyond whatever the venue may have already.  Probably some kind of one-time insurance.  Dale H and Doug may have some answers about these things, and we will ask them first.

 

6)  Seattle Pinball Pub-crawl:

 

Dale G suggested that we head down to Seattle to do a crawl through the pubs that have Pinball Machines and have an evening out of it.  Dale will make a post to get people's feelings about it, and start to look into planning it.  Eden volunteered to DD if need be, and all commitee members were interested in the idea.
