VRPA Committee Meeting: May 20^th, 2004

In attendance:  Kyle S, Eden S, Jason V, Warren Mc, Dale G

1st Item:  Decided that in conjunction with the newsletter, that a meeting announcement would be e-mailed directly to each member during the week before the meeting.  Warren and Dale to handle this.

2nd Item: Revising league scoring to make it fairer to those who attend all the tourney's without overly punishing those who miss a tourney.  Basically a system where the players average score for the tourney's he participates in, is added to his total points in case of a tie.  Eden and Jason please put this in your own words as I'm sure I've mucked it up badly.

3rd Item:  It was decided that we should have a tournament at an arcade next year, partly because it would be fun, and partly because it was thought that a time will come when we can't find a host and should be prepared for it.  Possible sites of the Movieland Arcade, Circuit Circus, and Castle Fun Park were suggested. Eden, Kyle, Jason and Dale will inquire at the locations they frequent to see what kind of arrangements can be made.

4th Item: Eden reminded us about the possible concert tie-in that he had posted on the forum, where we could supply some games at a venue where a group that plays video game music would be performing.  As there is not definite date at this time, it will be brought up in the future if it comes to pass.  Eden, Dale, and Kyle expressed willingness to look at the feasibility of doing this.

5th Item: EM Pinball Party in Seattle was discussed, specifically sending an e-mail stating our interest to attend.  Dale G. said he would take care of it and post the results.

6th Item:  Jason unveiled the first working drawings of the new website.

Home page is based on a Cirqus Voltaire playfield, using the inserts as button links to other parts of the site.  Very Cool!!

Jason should have a mock up ready for the next meeting.  There was much free discussion about a lot of different topics pertaining to the website but no official decisions were made, except to proceed with Jason's basic design.  Exact details, such as content of member profiles, maps to members houses, collection info etc, will be discussed further once a working model of the site is ready…
