VRPA Committee Meeting: Feb.11th, 2009

Attendance:

Kyle

Dale

Eden

Angelo

Meeting start: 7:30 pm

Location: Kyle’s Dad’s

1)      T Shirts:  The shirt order is complete.  A few extra shirts will be added to the order as well, in case there are future members interested in shirts or in the event that we would like to give some away as gifts to hosts of special events, etc.  The order will be submitted for production within the week, and it will hopefully be ready for the April Tournament.

2)      Special VRPA Function:  Kyle is interested in having a fun trip to Las Vegas to the Pinball Hall of Fame.  This would be open to VRPA Members only.  With the prices for trips to Las Vegas being so cheap right now, it would be an opportune time to consider making the trip for a few fun days with fellow VRPA members.  Kyle will gauge interest from other members with a post on the forum in the coming weeks, and if the interest is there, then a date fro the trip will be discussed... maybe around the end of April / middle of May (?)

3)      Feb. 21st Tournament:  6 games will be there and possibly a 7th, but it is unlikely.  Dale will go over to Mike’s to set up the games he’s bringing to the event, and make sure Mike’s games are all ready to go as well.

4)      Tournament Dates:  There were some changes done to the schedule since it’s original posting in early January (due to a conflict with Thanksgiving) but they are all listed on the website on the Home Page and under League.  League Finals are TBA at this point, but will likely happen 2 to 3 weeks after the final Tournament of the year.

5)      Tournament Format:  A second Tournament format will likely be tried sometime this year, but only at the right opportunity.  It would be best tested during a Tournament with a relatively low turnout, and / or a venue with plenty of space as this is required for it to work smoothly.  People LOVE the current format, but it would be nice to have a variety of fun formats to have available to use.  A 3rd format could be in the works as well if it is warranted.

6)      Member Fees:  A reminder that if Membership Fees are not submitted by Feb.21st, you WILL be cut off from the Forum.  $35 Full Members, $20 Web Members... Anyone who feels they can NOT get the fees in on time should contact Kyle as soon as possible, and something can certainly be worked out.

7)      Website:  Talked about some website Updates and Maintenance.  Jason has also been able to get us an extension with Basic Business for the VRPA website.

Meeting adjourned around 8:45 pm
