VRPA Committee Meeting: Apr.30^th, 2008

1) Jason Leaving Committee: Due to a very full schedule with his upcoming schooling, Jason will officially be leaving the Committee. A replacement is not particularly urgent since he is still willing to keep up the website needs, and is still willing to be a tiebreaker vote whenever necessary. We wish Jason the best of luck with his schooling, and appreciate everything he has done for the Committee and the Website since its inception.

2) Website Picture Hosting: This project will likely be put on hold due to web hosting costs coming in 2009. With a potentially high increase in fees, we may have to look into the feasibility of still having this feature as part of the website. Once we get a sense of what it will cost with the increases, we may look into it again.

3) Society Work: Eden and Kyle will try to get together to start looking into registering the VRPA. Hopefully sometime within the next month.

4) Tournament dates changed: A few dates have been moved in the summer months, including the removal of one event. We want to try and get it down to 8 events per year at this point. Corrected dates will be posted on the home page

5) Shirts: Eden will talk to his shirt guy in White Rock to see if he’s interested in doing them for us. Make sure the logo files are available to send to him.

6) League Finals: Eden has a new idea on how to run our League Finals this year. He would like to have the Top 8 players at the end of the year meet for head-to-head play. More details to follow in the Forum.

7) Jeff’s Tournament: We need to contact Jeff to post the RSVP for the next Tournament... it is only about 2 weeks away.

8) Newsletter: Dale will try to use Bcc: instead of To: when emailing mass newsletters to help prevent mass replies from occurring, along with greater privacy for members.

9) League Changes for 2009: Eden thinks he may have a SECOND format that can be used on occasion during the 2009 League. It will likely be tried for the first Tournament of 2009, and if it seems good, it may be alternated with the current format. It will not affect the way the League is scored, and it will keep the NUMBER of points available to be won the same as well.

10) Tournament Fees: We may look into raising Tournament fees to $8, maybe more. This will all be based on getting more money to the hosts and bigger prizes (possibly pay out 4^th place as well). This will be discussed later, and will certainly be put to a vote from all VRPA Members.
