VRPA Committee Meeting: Dec. 12th, 2007

1)      2008 VRPA Event Schedule:  The committee discussed how many events were desired for 2008, and it was decided that we wanted to make sure there were 10 Tournaments if possible since the 7 we had this year did not seem close to enough for the League.   Based on the poll presented on the website, it was decided that between 6 and 8 of these Tournaments should be on Saturdays, which was highly desired by a large number of members.  Eden presented 4 potential schedules for 2008.  After reviewing them, the committee ended up picking the best parts of 2 of them to make the 2008 schedule.  Pinball events outside of the group were also taken into account when creating this schedule and the current schedule may still be slightly altered to accommodate some events that VRPA members are likely to attend.

 

2)      AGM for 2007:  We are planning to have this meeting sometime in early 2008, but an exact date is not yet set.

 

3)      Team Tournament from Dale G:  Dale expressed interest in hosting a Team Tournament this year.  This would not be scored within the League, but would be a special one day event.

 

4)      Committee Access to Home Page:  On several occasions, changes have needed to be made to the home page, but Jason has been too busy to make the updates.  It would be worth seeing if we can get the Committee access to changing the home page whenever needed, and therefore take the burden off Jason.

 

5)      2008 Budget:  Budget options for 2008 will be posted by Kyle just before Xmas.

 

6)      Member Profiles:  Too many members have almost NO INFORMATION in their profiles… at VERY least contact information should be filled in.  This will be addressed in the next few weeks.

 

7)      League Finals:  The 2007 League finals will be held at Dale G’s sometime on December 30th.  There will probably be room for a limited number of spectators, so if you really are eager to watch, make sure you reserve a spot when the post goes up in the forum.

 

8)      Tournament Format Changes:  Dale had mentioned that despite how much he likes the current Tournament Format, it would be nice once in a while to somehow incorporate our old formats into something that would work with the current points system.  Eden had already figured out some ways to do just that, but it does not necessarily mean that we will have any changes in the near future.  The current plan is to continue using the current format for the entire year, and then gauge if any changes are needed for 2009.
