VRPA Committee Meeting: Apr. 4th, 2007

1)      Website Update:  Nothing new to report at present.  Ryan has been EXTREMELY busy with actual work projects, and has had NO time to do anything.  Hopefully, at least the different ‘members’ identifiers will be added within a month or so.

 

2)      Pictures Section for the Website:  A new IMAGES tab will be added to the top banner of the webpage.  Each Member will have their own ‘Images’ folder to post whatever pics they want to share.  Angelo (or whoever is the VRPA photographer at any given time) will have the ability to add ‘Event’ folders where he will post pictures from each specific pinball event that we have photos for.  Jason will try to get a mock-up ready to test by the end of April, just to get an idea of how it will look / fit onto the site.  The actual programming will have to happen some time later.

 

3)      Membership Requirements:  

 

·        Full Member: $25 – Reside in Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley, Full Forum Access, May attend ALL VRPA Events.

·        Web-Only Member: $15 – Resides OUTSIDE lower Mainland, Full Forum Access, May Attend 2 Events Yearly, but will be 2nd priority to Full Members at any event (regarding space)

·        Non-Member – Only has access to General Section, is essentially the same as a Guest.  1 Event per year, 3rd priority regarding space.

 

As always, anyone wishing to become a Web or Full member, must first attend an event as a guest, and pay the appropriate fee to join.  This fee is pro-rated for people who join part-way through a calendar year.  ** There will be some investigation into the feasibility of expanding the growth of the VRPA at the next Committee Meeting.

 

4)      Registering the VRPA as an Actual Association:  Still waiting on details, but we should be getting a presentation from certain VRPA Members shortly.

 

5)      VRPA Shirts:  Kyle will soon be posting regarding a 2nd run of shirts, sweat tops, and hoodies.  3 colors available for all styles: Black, Blue (likely Navy), and Military Green.   Exact colors will be included in post. Despite the request for child size shirts, they are TOO EXPENSIVE to make due to the cost involved reducing the images to fit shirts that small.  Small Size shirts should do well for the kids anyways.  If any member is adamant about getting a child size shirt, please contact Kyle about getting them done, but do expect the cost to rise by over $50 per shirt requested.

 

6)      Unpaid Members:  All members that have not paid their 2007 fees, or have not contacted us regarding payment coming, have been set to Non-member.  Too many people have not been paying their fees promptly, and we will be more diligent about this in 2008.  This is an easy-going group, but it’s just not fair for those people who HAVE paid promptly.

 

7)      2008 VRPA Public Event:  Nothing to discuss at present, but we would like to start tackling it in the summer.  It would be ideal to hold the event at a Hotel that would be willing to give special rates to our guests.  This will be looked into further.  Eden will start talking to some hotels that he has contact with to see if any of them are interested in hosting a show.

 

8)      VRPA Social at James Edes’:  Should be a GREAT time, plus Eden and James had discussed having a special event involving the VRPA and WPC Members that are attending.

 

9)      Pinball Article in The Province Newspaper:  Kyle was told it should be in the paper in the next 2 weeks or so.  Hopefully it won’t be edited down to just one paragraph !!
