VRPA Committee Meeting: Jan. 23rd, 2006

1)      Duties: Now that Warren has left the Committee, and Angelo has come on Board, some duties are being shuffled around.  Angelo will now be the new Treasurer and be responsible for Website Content like pictures and articles etc.  Dale G will now be the sole correspondence for the VRPA as the vrpa@shaw.ca email will be transferred to him.  He will be receiving all emails regarding the VRPA as well as sending out all informational emails to VRPA members.

 

2)      Website: It was noted that a small change to the Documents section would be more functional for the website.  It will be looked into whether we can have sets of pictures and documents Indexed on the page rather than having single links to each item… for example, instead of having a long list of Meeting Minutes, having a link saying Meeting Minutes 2004, and within that link, all the Meeting Minutes for that year.   It would clean up the page significantly, and help with overall organization.

 

3)      Tournament Formats: In an effort to have more variety in our Tournaments, another format was suggested by Kyle.  After working out certain issues, we now have a 3rd Tournament format to use on occasion.  It is based on Quarter-play per entry, and will still rank players 1st to 8th for the League Scoring.  Full details will follow upon its official launch.  Other formats were also suggested, and could possibly be used in the future as well once the fine tuning has been done.

 

4)      Tournament Fees:  Due to this new format, as well as a need for variety, Tournament fees will NOT be the same for each Tournament.  The current $6 may become $3 at some events, or do a ‘quarter per play’ format as was mentioned above… information for each Tournament regarding Format and Entry Fee will be Posted along with the announcement of the next Tournament Date and Location.  This way members will know what to expect for the event.

 

5)      Handicap: The handicap worksheet has been created, but formulas still need to be entered… a work still in progress.
